Special Session Proposal Submission
The FUSION 2008 Organising Committee invites proposals for special sessions to be included in the technical programme of the conference (July 1-3, 2008).
Special sessions provide an opportunity to focus on a specific topic such as an innovative theoretical approach for Information Fusion, a particular non-classical application or a state of the art in a particular domain.
Submission
Prospective organisers of a special session must notify the Technical Programme Chairs of their intention by sending 1 to 3 pages containing the following information:
- Basic Information: Title of the special session, contact information for the organiser(s) (name, email address, affiliation), keywords, and scope or objective of the proposed special session.
- Abstract: A brief description of the session, suitable for inclusion in the conference registration brochure.
- Topic of Interest: Full description of the proposed special session explaining its potential interest for the information fusion community, as well as the benefit sought by deepening this particular topic.
- Organisers' Biography: A brief resume of the organiser(s), highlighting the background in the proposed special session area.
The evaluation of the proposal will mainly be based on its general interest for FUSION 2008 attendees and the quality of the proposal.
Special session papers will follow the same review process and deadlines as regular papers.
Responsibilities
Special session organisers will be responsible for the following:
- Publicising the session and finding enough papers so that the session can be held.
- Chairing the special session at FUSION 2008.
The FUSION 2008 Organising Committee may decide to cancel any special session if the above responsibilities are not fulfilled, if deadlines are missed, or if too many papers expected to be part of the special session are rejected by the technical committee.
